Okay, so I’m finally caught up on this week’s Flash. Was it just me, or were Tanya Lamden and King Shark rocking a kind of June Moon and Killer Croc vibe? It was very sweet.

I liked the focus on consent, but the “previously on” felt like it was rewinding a lot of the progress Barry made with “Goldfaced”. Don’t get me wrong, I am usually down for Barry skating up to the edge of dark moral decisions or grim lonerdom, but not every other episode.

(Particularly not when he spent most of the last one in the Speed Force while Nora learned the important Allen family lesson of talking to the rest of your damn team.)

I’m not entirely sure I bought his flip at the end, either. I mean, I know that Barry (when not in the throes of a “shall I be dark –I shall not” plot) is basically a sweet guy who has an adorable amount of faith in humanity, but going from “how did you convince this other person to be good and self-sacrificing (unspoken: obviously you had to convince them)” to “making this offer to Cicada is obviously something I will go for cheerfully and freely” felt weird.

What I like about Barry, to be blunt, is that I believe he tries to be good and kind even when it hurts or is scary. Extending an open hand to the guy who kidnapped Iris last month? I could see it. I could. But I couldn’t see it being easy.
