…I would like to note that until WorldCon nobody told me that Pennyworth was a “we’ll put public executions on the telly!”-level alt-history thing and I feel like the marketing fell seriously down on the job here.
I mean, I like Alfred! Always have, was meaning to look up the show at some point. But this feels more like somebody’s pet “pre-V-for-Vendetta-without-the-nuclear-annihilation show about a salt-of-the-earth young man coming home from the war and trying to start a security business while surviving spies and crime lords and traitors” original property.
If naming the protagonist “Alfie Pennyworth” was what it took them to get funding, I am 100% okay with them doing that.
