I really do love that sulky tip of the salt shaker, because there’s so many ways you can read it. Exasperation with the so-young kid (remember, the first thing Len said when he got a look at Barry was to ask if his mom knew he was out) who thinks that bad luck is a thing you can just avoid? Braggadocio about how much bad luck he can handle? A rejection of anything meant as a social overture? An explicit dismissal of useless advice because he’s got enough on his mind right now and if he shuts this nonsense down, at least there won’t be more chatter?
I should rewatch some early stuff, I think.
