Nickname: PepperCat.
Zodiac: Gemini.
Height: 170 cm.
Last movie I saw: Into the Spiderverse. So good.
Favorite musicians: …huh. Stuff I listen to a lot includes Sisters of Mercy, Leonard Cohen, The Killers, Rock Sugar, Meatloaf, Halestorm, Mark Knopfler, possibly a growing fondness for Panic! At The Disco… I’m flexible? Also haven’t had time to sit down and listen to music in. Uhm. I don’t remember.
Song stuck in my head: Not at the moment!
Other blogs: I’m peppercat on DreamWidth. (Hello, if you are reading this on DreamWidth!) Nothing else on Tumblr, though.
Do I get asks: Sometimes if I post an ask meme, very rarely otherwise.
Following: 169.
Amount of sleep: Ideally, eight hours. In practice, probably closer to six.
Lucky number: I don’t know. Even numbers are nice? So is 7?
What I’m wearing: Jeans, sweater (thrown at me by a lovely friend who heard me bemoaning my lack of clothes because I haaaaate clothes shopping and also have you seen how little time I have), earrings. And by the time you read this, probably an anxious expression, because I have a test this morning!
Dream job: Right now? Not the one I’m currently at. More generally, writer.
Dream trip: Going back to London. Cross-country road trip through North America.
Favorite food: Not sure. Cheese is pretty good?
Play any instruments: I used to play the recorder in grade school.
Favorite song: Not sure, but the one playing as I write this is “Use Me” by Goo Goo Dolls.
Random fact: In 1992, the US Department of Energy had a study done on the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP), attempting to figure out how to store nuclear waste in such a way that a culture which arose while the waste was still dangerous would understand that the storage area was dangerous and un-valuable. Ideally, it would still be effective thousands of years into the future, and in addition to practical concerns (what lasts that long) the project looked at things like human reaction to stucture, symmetry, aesthetics… The message they wanted to convey was
This place is not a place of honor.
No highly esteemed deed is commemorated here.
Nothing valued is here.
This place is a message and part of a system of messages.
Pay attention to it!
Sending this message was important to us.
We considered ourselves to be a powerful culture.
(If you’re looking for random facts about me, there’s a list here, but I figured I’d take the chance to geek.)
Describe yourself as aesthetic things: Candles, old books, popcorn, dangly earrings, coffee, hands covering a laugh or a smile, low red sunlight, rain.
Tagging: @isconnormcdavidok, @tricksterrune, @wintertruffles, @sophiainspace, @coldtomyflash, @amber-flicker , @lessspoons, @middlemarching, @bar2d2s, @witch-noir, oh dammit I need to get out the door now, sorry, please consider yourself tagged if you want to be!
